"I cannot remember what year we went into Yokosuka , 1969 ? But I remember that when we went on liberty we had to leave on a bus in civies, because there was a protest against U.S. ships carrying Nuc weapons.

"Ratchet forward to late 1980’s. I am working as a manufacturers rep for NEC, I am an EE, and key customer is GE in Somersworth, NH. I “own” their UP (micro processor) business, and they decide to build a custom UP. So NEC sends a department (~12) engineers to gather specs, and a manager. They were here for ~ 1 week, and I had to entertain them each night.

"We are out one night, sitting next to NEC manager I mention that I have been to Japan. I mention Youkuska, Sargo in context, and he smiles. He asks me if I remember a demonstration outside of gates. I do. He then informs me he was the organizer of that demonstration.
