The following pictures were taken in March 1994, during the docking of the USS Skate (SSN 578) outboard of USS Sargo (SSN 583) in Drydock Number 3 at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, Bremerton, Washington. The photos were included as a part of the Historic American Engineering Record HAER WASH, 18-BREM, 4E that was published documenting the Drydock Number 3 (Facility 703) historic architecture. This report was available on the Library of Congress website, in August, 2010.

This view of the drydock shows USS Sargo (SSN 583) tied up alongside the drydock. The photo caption read: " WA-116-E-26 View of South Section [of Drydock No. 3] from caisson when drydock is almost fully flooded in preparation for the docking of a second submarine [USS Skate (SSN 578)]. Other views of the flooding procedure were not permitted for HAER No. WA-116-E report."

The photo caption read: "WA-116-E-26 View of fully flooded drydock with caisson opened. Newly arrived submarine [USS Skate (SSN 578)] is being placed in position. Berthed submarine on right [USS Sargo (SSN 583)] is same as that seen in photo WA-116-25. Camera is pointed S from bulkhead."

On 14 Apr 1994, USS SARGO (SSN 583) entered the Navy's Nuclear Powered Ship and Submarine Recycling Program.
